Lyndhurst Legacy is our approach to the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support practice designed to develop positive, safe and supportive learning cultures. We do this by engaging our students with the Lyndhurst Legacy Values of Commitment, Excellence, High Expectations, Integrity and Respect
College staff support students to understand the importance of each of the College’s Legacy Values and unpack the associated positive behaviours with them through their classroom instruction, as well as in Home Group and Mentor Group times.
Lyndhurst Legacy Recognition System
As a way to recognise our students positive engagement with the Legacy Values inside and outside of the classroom, our Lyndhurst Legacy Recognition System reinforces the positive behaviours of our students by ensuring that their efforts are noticed and celebrated.
All staff have the ability to recognise positive student behaviours through the use of the Lyndhurst Legacy Compass Chronicle entries. When a staff member completes one of these entries, the student is awarded one Lyndhurst Legacy Point and a positive email is sent home to inform parents and/or carers of the positive behaviour.
Lyndhurst Legacy Awards & Badge System
As students earn Legacy Points across the year, they will be further recognised through the Legacy Awards and Badge System.
When a student earns ten points in a particular Legacy Value, they will receive a value award at their next Year Level Assembly. For example, a student who earns ten points for Commitment will receive the Commitment Award at their next assembly.
When a student earns one award for each of the Legacy Values, they will receive the Principal’s Award at the next Whole-School Assembly.
The Lyndhurst Legacy Badge System is our way of recognising a student’s long-term commitment and dedication to displaying the LSC College Values across their time. The badge system also recognises a student’s contribution to the College outside of the values by recognising their efforts in our Arts, Clubs, Community, Leadership and Sports programs – represented under the umbrella of Lyndhurst Legacy Community Badge. Students will receive their badges at Whole School Assembly
